We were fortunate enough to have many IDEAL family members visiting for the summer break as well. We celebrated with a BBQ at Lake Wauberg that included everything from Chinese chicken wings and Korean BBQ to home made coleslaw. While the members of IDEAL are sad to see Dr. Yuan go, we are grateful for the time she spent with us and wish her the best in her future endeavors. Dr. Chang-Burm Cho took the IDEAL group out for a lunch to celebrate his recent graduation. With a host of deadlines in the near future, it was a nice, short break where we all enjoyed many different Dim sum dishes to help re-energize us for a few very busy weeks! Amidst a fresh new set of deadlines, the members of IDEAL took a Saturday night off to celebrate the Lunar New Year, relax with good company, but most importantly, to enjoy an array of traditional Chinese dishes prepared by Dr. Tao Li's father Zhixin Li. This picture was taken at our 'End of the Semester' Lunch. At the end of every semester, the members of IDEAL go out to lunch together to discuss the successes of the semester as well as the future course of the lab for the next semester. This semester we went to Red Lobster and shared a meal including Fish, Shrimp, Crab, Scallops, and Lobster! We first cooked lunch at a park not far from the beach, and then moved on to the beach where we spent several hours swimming in the ocean. Asmita will become the first full Alumni of the IDEAL lab, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. This picture was taken at the second IDEAL BBQ. The BBQ was held at Manatee Springs park about an hour away from campus. We enjoyed more food than any of us could finish, and then played sports including frisbee and football. Finally, we ended the day with a nature walk through the beautiful manatee springs.
